Work with TAs online

TAs can be especially helpful in an online environment. You might ask your TA to:

  • Moderate Zoom chat. TAs can answer minor questions that come up during lecture ("what page was that again?") and can bubble up substantive questions.
  • Help with classroom management. Ask TAs to remind you when your mic is turned off, or to go in and mute students as needed.

Zoom Tips

Add TAs as alternative hosts. (Be sure to use the TA's Stanford SUNet email address rather than an alias).

Alternative hosts are able to start meetings, though they will not be able to run Zoom polls or manage breakout rooms.

Note that "co-hosts," which you can assign within the meeting, have much more limited abilities.
