About Teaching Commons Events

Main content start

Like the Teaching Commons as a whole, Teaching Commons events are organized and facilitated by people across the university in many different roles. We are invested in fostering a strong culture of teaching and learning. The core values we believe Stanford teaching can embody are represented by the TEACH Framework (Timely, Engaging, Accessible, Connected, Humane).

Frequently Asked Questions

Who are Teaching Commons events for?

For all Stanford instructors and those interested in teaching and learning, including faculty, staff, TAs, graduate students, and so on. Teaching Commons events offer a place to refresh your ideas, problem-solve, and be inspired. All Stanford affiliates are welcome!

Do I have to come the whole time?

No. For the Symposium, we encourage participants to pick and choose the sessions that are most useful. For the conference, come for the whole event or whatever part of it works best for you. For course clinics, feel free to drop in any time to ask any questions and for general discussion.
