Whiteboard features

Microsoft Whiteboard is a versatile collaborative tool designed for teamwork and brainstorming sessions. It provides an infinite canvas for users to write, draw, and share content in real-time, making it ideal for meetings, classes, and creative endeavors. Key features include real-time collaboration, enabling multiple users to interact simultaneously from different locations, and integration with Microsoft Teams for seamless usage during virtual meetings. Whiteboard includes features such as sticky notes, text, images, and reactions, allowing for a comprehensive and interactive experience.

Whiteboard is Stanford’s recommended solution in place of tools such as Jamboard, Miro, or Lucidspark. 

Artificial intelligence features

At present, there are no generative artificial intelligence features in this tool.

Access Microsoft Whiteboard 

All Stanford users can access Microsoft Whiteboard with their Stanford Microsoft account using their SUNet credentials. Whiteboard is available on a web browser, in Microsoft Teams, Office 365, and as a standalone app on Windows, iOS, Android, and Surface Hub. 

1. Sign in to your Microsoft Stanford University account
   1. Utilize your SUNet@stanford.edu email address
2. Click on the Apps icon (9 dots) in the upper left corner
3. Click Explore all your Apps
4. Under Apps, click All apps
5. Scroll down and click Whiteboard

Pedagogical uses of Whiteboard

Whiteboard allows educators to create a dynamic and collaborative space where students can participate in discussions, brainstorming sessions, and problem-solving activities in real-time. The infinite canvas feature encourages creativity and offers ample room for expanding ideas without spatial limitations.
