How Could You Cheat!? Promoting Academic Well-being and Integrity

Cat Sanchez and Nancy Nguyen, Office of Community Standards

You work hard to develop a curriculum to support learning… and students engage in academic dishonesty! What are the student situations and environments that may lead to this? As educators, how can we proactively support student well-being and prevent cheating in and out of the classroom? Join the staff from the Office of Community Standards to reflect on these situations and learn more about the campus resources available to support you in supporting student success.

Sound Communication

Makiko Hirata, Stanford Program on International and Cross-cultural Education (SPICE)

How much attention do you pay to your tone of voice in the classroom? What is the range of your vocal inflections during your presentations? What is the tempo of your bullet points and rhythms in your choice of words? Do you know the power that sonification can give to a set of data? As a concert pianist, teacher, and researcher, I will demonstrate how music can encourage us to be more empathetic and imaginative through a series of short vocalization and listening exercises, and how understanding that mechanism can make us better communicators and educators.

Productivity and Professional Growth: Exploring AI Apps to Support Well-Being in Academic Roles

Christina Fajardo, Graduate School of Education Office of Innovation & Technology

In this session, you will learn how to harness the power of AI transcription tools and AI-generated chatbots as virtual assistants to streamline your work and enhance your professional life.
