Exploring Pedagogic Uses of AI Workshop Kit

This workshop kit will help your audience take a student-centered perspective in exploring how to use AI chatbots to enhance learning. It also examines pedagogic strategies and explores ways educators might use AI chatbots in their work.

Goal and objectives

This workshop examines ways your audience might use AI chatbots to enhance teaching and learning in ways that align with effective pedagogy and teaching methods. Your audience will also gain hands-on experience using chatbots that can inform their understanding of how AI chatbots can be used in their teaching practice.

After completing this workshop, participants should be able to:

• Reflect on student perspectives on using AI.
• Identify strategies for effectively interacting with a chatbot.
• Describe the elements of an effective structured AI prompt.
• Describe pedagogical situations where AI chatbots can be beneficial.
• Use a chatbot to complete an education-related task.

Audience

This workshop is intended for staff, instructors, and students who have a basic understanding of AI tools and are motivated to gain experience using AI chatbots to enhance student learning.

Time

This workshop is approximately 60 minutes in length.

• Aim to foster literacy, responsibility, and fluency concerning AI.

This survey serves multiple functions. It gathers demographic information about the workshop participants, evaluates the workshop's effectiveness, prompts metacognitive reflection, and gathers feedback on improving the workshop. The survey was created in Google Forms. Make a copy of the survey to adapt and keep in your Google Drive.
